Ingredients
1/3 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts EACH:thyme,marjoram and
celery salt
1/4 ts EACH:pepper,paprika and
poultry seasoning
2/3 c Butter Flavor Crisco
1 Frying chicken (2 3/4 to 3-1/4 lbs.), cut up or use-chicken
pieces

Combine flour, salt,herbs and spices in plastic
bag. Shake chicken pieces,
a few at a time, in seasoned flour. Melt Butter Flavor Crisco
in large
skillet over medium heat. (Use 360 degree setting for electric
skillet.)
Fry chicken, uncovered, without lowering heat, 30 to 40 minutes
or until
done. Turn 4 or 5 times during frying.
Drain on adsorbent paper. Cool, uncovered, 1 hour at room temperature.
Chill, uncovered, several hours or overnight in refrigerator
before packing
in covered container to be packing in picnic cooler.
